Chuggington Marathon –
Disney Channel schedules a 4 ½ hour marathon of its popular new series about a special place where the only way to get around is on a train. Three young trainee trains, Wilson, Brewster and Koko are learning how to ride the rails, and their efforts are the vehicles for the stories. There's a never-ending series of places to go and things to see – kind of like the experiences of their young preschool viewers. Watch the marathon beginning at 6 am ET/5 am CT.
Killer Aliens – The United States is playing host to a lot of very dangerous and invasive species who don't belong here. Florida is ground zero with imported invaders such as the Burmese python, feral hog, Nile monitor Lizard and Gambian rat. They have no natural predators and they are dangerous to humans. Watch this Animal Planet special and learn more. Premieres at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT.
Minute to Win It – This reminds us somewhat of the old Beat the Clock (yes, we're that old!). Food Network personality Guy Fieri hosts this new NBC series that gives competitors just one minute to finish each of simple but challenging tasks. If they win, they get a million bucks. If they don't – whoosh! They're gone. They earn incremental amounts as they complete tasks and are given chances to walk away with their winnings before tackling the next deceptively simple challenge. Watch the premiere at 7 pm ET/6 pm CT. Series will air regularly on Sundays at 8/7.
Cutting Edge 4 – Time to catch up again with skater Alex Delgado, who gave up her pairs figure skating career when her partner (on and off ice) got injured. She turned to teaching until James Van Behr, a bad-boy speed-skater who's been banned from the sport, turns up to try to change her mind and partner with him. She takes his challenge and begins a grueling life of training. And as the competitions get closer, so do the partners and their tempestuous relationship may interfere with plans to bring home the gold. Watch this ABC Family original film beginning at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT.
The Pacific – HBO begins a sweeping, 10-part mini-series that tracks three U.S. Marines in the Pacific theatre of WWII. From Guadalcanal, through Iwo Jima and Okinawa and on to V-J Day, there's nonstop action both battle and emotional. Executive producing team Tom Hanks Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman provides a hint that this will be another award-winning and insightful look at the world at war. Watch beginning at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT.
Tough as Nails – Cindy Stumpo is a woman in the man's world of contracting, yet she's made a success of it in Massachusetts by being Lucky and tough. As a builder of high end luxury homes Cindy is dealing with the daily pressure of juggling her workers and her mother and daughter who are involved in her business as well as a son and an ex-husband/employee. In other words, her life is a drama, and HGTV captures it in this new series beginning at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT.
Sons of Tucson – If you could choose your own dad, who – or what – would he be? Three brothers whose father goes to prison hire a stand-in. He's a slacker, but is willing to give it a go and digs into the fatherhood role for the Gunderson boys. As this new Fox series moves forward, you'll be wondering who holds the reins, because both "father" and sons are engaged in a daily battle of wits. Watch beginning at 9:30 pm ET/8:30 pm CT.
America's Worst Driver – Travel Channel goes looking for the champion of "shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car in America" drivers. It's a new reality competition series in which five bad drivers from a featured city will compete against each other in a series of challenges. The season finale will take place in L.A. and an "America's Worst Driver" will be crowned. Series premieres at 10 pm ET/9 pm CT.
The Antonio Treatment – HGTV Design Star winner Antonio Ballatore won the season four competition and now has his own show in which he'll transform dull homes, offices, restaurants and any other spaces he can get his hands on. His methods are rather radical, but the results are functional and beautiful. Watch beginning at 10 pm ET/9 pm CT.
Fatal Attractions – You see stories in the news fairly frequently about exotic animals that people have tried to turn into pets – usually with bad endings. This three-part series on Animal Planet tries to get into the heads of people who adopt exotic and often dangerous species and understand their obsessions. You may admire their interest and willingness to try, but this should act as a caution to people who should stick with domestic dogs and cats. Watch beginning at 10 pm ET/9 pm CT.
Summit on the Summit – To call attention to the lack of clean drinking water for more than 1 billion people on Earth, a group of activists, including Grammy nominee Kenna, Jessica Biel, Lupe Fiasco, Isabel Lucas & Santi White, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. They turned their trek into a documentary premiering on MTV tonight at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT.
